La Hacienda

Are you looking to escape the heat and noise in the centre of San Gil and enjoy some fresh air and wonderful views? If you want a relaxed environment, home cooking and to have beautiful nature right on your doorstep then La Hacienda is the place for you.

La Hacienda is the only hostel in San Gil set in the original farmhouse of a working coffee finca and is surrounded by the coffee plantation, citrus trees and lush vegetation. The hostel is up in the hills above San Gil with stunning views and it's easy to get here - we can arrange transport with one of our taxi amigos.

Our aim is to create a home from home where everyone can relax, we are always on hand to help with anything you need - home cooked meals, organising activities, bus tickets, sharing tips on the best places to visit and best local hiking. We also offer in-house empanada making classes (including a fruit tour of the market) and pizza making classes.

This unique, peaceful place is a perfect base for those who want to experience the extreme sports that San Gil has to offer (we only work with the best companies who have impeccable safety records) or equally for those who just want to get away from the hustle and bustle, relax in a hammock, go for a beautiful walk, enjoy some tasty food and watch the sun set behind the distant mountains, go stargazing or play the guitar around the campfire.

We are Jane (from the UK) and Felipe (from Colombia), we have both travelled extensively around Latin America (how we met) so we know what helps make a great hostel - we hope you will agree!
